A Little Friday Reflection

With everything happening in the world right now – the tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, and people even talking about the possibility of a World War III—it’s hard to not feel worried. Wars never really bring anything good. They push countries and people back by many years, and it becomes a tough time for most of the population… except maybe the super-rich ones (you know whom I mean 🤐 ).

Amidst all this, I happened to post a few pictures on my social media yesterday. And yes, they were the kind of pictures that looked like I was celebrating life 🙂

To be honest, I was genuinely happy yesterday for a few reasons.

While traveling on a bus, I overheard a couple of students preparing for an interview. Their conversation was quite audible, and I realized they were slightly off on a few topics. I just casually pointed out a few corrections wished them good luck, gave some tips, and they thanked me so wholeheartedly that it made me feel good.

Later, I spent some quality time with my parents and my sister. In the evening, I attended an event with my hunsband conducted by his office.

Now before you assume I took a day off and had the perfect relaxing day—that’s not exactly the case. I had taken leave mainly because I had a doctor’s appointment in the afternoon and the office event in the evening 🤷But what stayed with me were the little good moments throughout the day. Somehow those small positives made me forget the minor issues that usually pop up during the day.

When I posted the pictures, one of my ex-colleagues commented 😂
“Ulaga pore vandhalum neenga post podradhe nirutha maateenga”
(Which basically means: No matter what’s happening in the world, you’re still posting photos like usual.)

He currently lives in the Middle East, so I completely understand where that comment was coming from 😵‍💫

But honestly, whether I post pictures or not, it’s not going to change global events.

And on a lighter side — what if WW3 actually starts and the world ends tomorrow? I definitely don’t want to regret not capturing or sharing my happy moments while I could😄

Jokes apart, I did check on the people I know who live in the Middle East, and I genuinely feel worried about all the difficult things happening around. The truth is, most of us can’t directly change situations like this. All we can really do is care, pray for the people affected, and help in whatever small ways we can if the opportunity comes.

Anyway, I just felt like writing something on a Friday, so here it is — a small, random reflection.

Let’s hope for better and calmer days ahead🤍🤍
