
LockDown Days!!!
Amidst most folks who trusted that corona will not be of greater impact to us,I went an extra-mile assuming the initial lock down to be a boon π As days passed, realised that it’s a beast in boon disguise π¨
When it all commenced, it was like sheer bliss as I thought I would be spending quality time with my family and manage both office work and household chores in a much better way. All my plans involved- spend dedicated time for fitness, office work only between 9-6, try every possible dishes (ofcourse in veg π) and get qualified for the next season of Master chef, take good care of skin & hair and so on (imagination and dreams are countless and our own liberty π). Even I was wondering like why did fitness came to my mind as a first thing, because in reality, fitness started having more social distancing from me than usual. Skin and hair care routine – (sollave vendaam π) it was much better during the normal days than now. I know this time must have been utilized really fruitful but that was not what happened with me.
Working from home is quite comfortable as I could save a lot time invested in commute and was really under an impression that I’m going to have a great time especially in the evenings. But, it is all the other way round – had to be available for calls at any point of time, out of which few are scheduled and all the others are sporadic, extended working hours, work during many of the weekends and so on. At home, everyone started looking at me really strange and they were like we never saw you this occupied with office work in the past 2 to 3 years. Even I didn’t have an answer for this question π Ofcourse it is not just me going through this and more than 50% of WFH professionals are in the same situation and I completely understand all the employers are also under a tremendous business pressure.
Coming to the online classes for kids – that is another nightmare !!! In my case it is fine, because, for my kid , it is just for 30 minutes and 2 days per week. In that 30 minutes, 15 minutes goes in morning wishes (namasthe, did you have your breakfast, say hi to ur frnds) and rest of the time, it will either go on with some rhymes and stories or with network issues. But when I looked at my sister’s kids’ classes, I seriosuly started praying for this pandemic to vanish and schools to get reopened at the first place π. It’s kind of OK for the KG and little bigger classes. But if you see the 1st and 2nd std ones, they are just awesome and outspoken. One Kid is asking the teacher directly when she ll finish the class and he also conveyed to her that he is feeling really sleepyπ΄ if you keep watching the video clips coming in the app, one has already slept and one is yawning. Really feeling pity for those teachers. They got to split the classes and repeat the same stuff for more than 4 times in a day. Just like the hashtags floating in the social media for so many things, I would suggest one for them also #pray4Teachers!!!!
Time flies and this lockdown has taught us many things in our lives. Trying to come up with a healthy lifestyle and a well being (have not taken a step yet π but really I’m trying) so that we can have lesser health complaints and stay safe from this pandemic. Happy for everyone out there who have already started trying new things and moving towards a better lifestyle that includes fitness and healthy food – Open to suggestions !!! let me know if you have any tips !!!
